My Dream 8123 Fest Line Up

Ever since the second 8123 Fest was announced last month, I’ve been daydreaming about who I’d love to see as part of the line up—apart from the rest of the 8123 roster, of course. So I put together my dream line up, using bands who’ve toured with The Maine in the past as well as bands I think would fit in well.

Revamping Band Tees (Part Four)

Sometimes you have shirts that you, quite frankly, just can’t bring yourself to wear out in public anymore. Whether it’s because it’s too old, the band broke up, or it’s your high school boyfriend’s shirt, we all have those shirts that we love but not enough to wear out, but we still can’t let go of them. What do we do with them? Here are a few ideas, with minimal/optional sewing techniques.

Get Out, Get Lost

Growing up, I was known as that intense music-lover who traveled to shows out of state no matter what day of the week it was. At the time, I thought I was just seeing my favorite artists on more than one date. Now that I’m older, I can reflect back on those times and see why it is that the shows I traveled for were the ones where I truly found my passion for music and concert going.

Support Found Within 8123

Everyone within 8123 has their passion. And if you haven’t found it yet, check out my last post on finding your passion, or stick around the 8123 spirit a little longer and you’re sure to. As all of us dream chasers have discovered, there are hardships and obstacles that come from taking a “risky”, as the world calls it, leap. And even more so, many of us have figured out how difficult these dreams can be to achieve on our own.

The 12 Bands I Saw At Warped

As we all know, Warped Tour is at an end. Whether you never got to experience it yourself or if you went every year, you’ll know that it was something special—a full day of standing outside, meeting bands, restocking your closet with merch, and eating a lot of junk food (yes, I’ll take a hot dog and a slice of pizza, please). Obviously the best part of Warped was getting to see so many bands in such a small amount of time and this year’s line up was one of the best in my opinion.

Much!

Summer is well underway, and we all know what that means – it’s time to break out our speakers and start blasting our summer playlists. Whether you’re driving to the beach, laying out in the sun, going to shows, or just laying on your bedroom floor complaining about how hot it is, we all need some background music to get us in the summer spirit. Some of my best summer memories go hand in hand with my summer soundtrack, so here’s what’s on mine this year:

A Never Ending Dance With Depression

Have you ever woke up and found yourself in a deep narrow ditch, unsure if it’s the humidity of the dirt enclosing you or the sweat from being in such a compact space that makes it so hard to breathe? As you peer out, the light seems so far away and seems to be getting more and more distant every time you eventually fall asleep and decide when you actually want to open your eyes for the day that you dread so drastically.

Revamping Band Tees (Part One)

Now that I am in my mid-twenties, band tees have become slightly less prevalent in my wardrobe (thanks, grown-up jobs). However, whenever I’m not pretending like I’m gritting my teeth in pain from walking in heels, or tugging at my skirt hem because of my irrational fear of a wardrobe malfunction, I try to find ways to incorporate my old and new band tees into my wardrobe when I’m off-duty.

A Reflection On 8123 Fest 2017

The Maine have been my favourite band and a gigantic chunk of sunshine in my life for a generous handful of years now, but for me 8123 fest was the point at which this whole thing started to feel more than just a band, but like a family. The atmosphere in that parking lot in downtown Phoenix, filled with several thousand souls from all over the world was nothing short of magical.
