May is Mental Health Awareness Month. This past year has been especially hard for everyone, and taking care of your mental health is so important. We’re excited to be celebrating and raising awareness with the 8123 family all month long!

Join 8123 Impact in celebrating World Clean Up Day by getting out and cleaning up your neighborhood, park, or local beach on September 19th.
We are Reina and Rachel, sisters in the Chicagoland area, and a couple of years ago, we started a podcast "Sisters on a Sofa" to share our experiences as young Black women in a predominantly White world, the racism and microaggressions we faced.
Music, while a safe space for many, still isn't a safe place for BIPOC. We don't feel safe in your crowds. We don't feel safe with your fans. We don't feel safe.
I’m a 29 year old black male and as far as I know that makes me a super minority in the scope of 8123 members.
I asked him “would you shoot me if I was walking in your neighborhood in a hoodie at night?” His response was, “yes if I didn’t know who you were and you didn’t respond to me.” I was shocked. Taken aback and for the first time in my life, truly reminded that my skin color mattered to people.
Can I have your full attention as your brown skinned equal as part of the music scene, and life in general?
