First & foremost I’d like to thank you guys for what you have done to educate through Impact & the 8123 resources. As an African American & a part of your fan base I can tell you it’s touching to see what you guys are doing. I’ve witness firsthand the lack of diversity growing up a fan of the alternative scene, people would often make comments about the shows I went to & the merch I would wear. Yet one thing has always been clear, the bands I love never treated me any different. I want to open a dialogue that can hopefully lead to a more inclusive alternative scene, with more roles for young black men & women (artists, managers, crew members, etc). These opportunities are more common for black creatives in hip hop & rnb and I can’t help but think there could be so much more than that.
